Housing Project with Shanthi Foundation
Ranaviru Fund is delighted to work with Shanthi Foundation to build a house for the family of a soldier who died due to a complicated medical condition while at service.
Pvt Wijerathne passed away on 27th March 2017 following a complicated brain surgery leaving his wife Kaushalya and 3 children of ages 11, 07 and 04. They are sharing the old house belong to Pvt Wijerathne's parents. At the time of Pvt Wijerathne's death they were planning to build their own house but that was remained only a dream due to his passing away.
Shanthi Foundation, a reputed Sri Lankan charity that is running for nearly 40 years are planning to build 30 new houses for those who doesn't have an own house in the Anuradhapura district. This is also to mark the 30th Anniversary of their annual Jasmine Flower offerings to the Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred tree of Buddhists, which is believed to be the oldest tree in the world. Shanthi Foundation has given us the opportunity to facilitate one of these houses for this special family. This meritorious deed was inline with our charitable objectives and we are please to announce this project to our well wishers and donors for their support.
Estimated cost of this house is LKR 800,000 provided that labour could be facilitated through Sri Lanka Army Engineering Corp.

Medical aid for a Bone Marrow Transplant
Update: 24 July 2018
- Surgery was successfully completed on 27th May 2018
- Hashini was discharged on June 30th
- Rs. 2.3 million was paid for the bone marrow to the Indian hospital.
- Rs. 8.6 million was paid to Asiri Central.
- The family currently living in a rented house in Colombo. They will need to live in Colombo for at least for 6 months until all tests are done and patient can lead a normal life.
- Child was re-admitted to hospital last week after getting a fewer. She was in hospital for 5 days. Cost 320,000/-. The doctors have warned that this kind of problems will have to be faced until she fully recovers.
- Tests are done weekly and cost LKR 130,000.00 per test.

Miss. Hashini Imasha Rajapaksha (14 years) has been diagnosed with a condition of Thallassaemia major.
This condition needs regular blood transfusions monthly and iron chelation treatment daily. As this is a genetic condition there is no permanent cure other than Bone Marrow Transplant. This procedure is scheduled to be done in India at an estimated cost of Rs. 7 million.
Father, Sgt. Aruna Krishantha Rajapakshe, is a retired solider of the Sri Lanka Army with a 22 years of service. He has so far collected Rs. 2 million, by selling a property and through donations. They need a further 5 million. We are appealing to all our donors help at us fund at least Rs.500,000.00 of the balance Rs.5 million.
