March, 2024: Ranaviru Fund has relaunched its scholarship program in 2022 upon request for assistance from the Ranaviru Seva Authority (RVSA) aiming to support the educational needs of the children of Sri Lankan service personnel. During the last round of scholarship program, we were able to sponsor 15 deserving children of service personnel members who are either deceased or wounded due to reasons outwith operational activities. This is in addition to over 800 children we sponsored during the period 2005-2012.
With the immense success during the relaunched Ranaviru Fund scholarship program we are now aiming to sponsor a total of 40 children to support their education as part of the 2024/2025 program. With support from our valued donors, most who are continuing their sponsorships from the previous years we were able to secure the sponsorships as indicated in the table below.
Our aim is to provide a monthly scholarship of Rs. 5,000.00 to each beneficiary, which is equivalent to annual sponsorship of Rs. 60,000.00 (approximately GBP 160 / USD 200 / EUR 185 / AUD 305). The annual sponsorship will be transferred to the RVSA who will then disburse monthly funds to the corresponding child / carer each month for the next 12 month period.
Sponsors are welcome to provide full or part sponsorships for the next program year 2024/2025.
