Ranaviru Fund is pleased to donate another lot of Radio Controlled Talking Calendar Alarm wrist watches for the benefit of visually impaired soldiers living at Abimansala 3 in Kurunegala. Ranaviru Fund has previously donated a consignment of equipment for the benefit of visually impaired soldiers. It was a timely call that we made with Major Dushyantha Yapa, who himself a person who suffered eye injuries. Dushyantha has been very helpful identifying a common need across all of the soldiers who needed a Talking Watch.
Following emails from Major Yapa tells us how much they liked the new watch.

Dear Ranaviru Fund,
Herewith I send you the photos taken at the event of distributing the Talking watches to our blind soldiers. The commandant of Abimansala 3, Lt. Col Dananjaya Aludeniya too graced the occasion. It took me sometime to organize this event as the commandant had some commitments at the Army Para games held last week. An official thanking letter will be sent to you in few days time. There were only 6 blind soldiers including me, other 3 have gone on leave, once they return I'll hand them the watches.
I mentioned your name and some of your earlier donations too at the occasion.
I taught our blind soldiers how to operate the watch and they had no difficulty picking its functionality. Moreover they were extremely pleased with that watch as it is indeed a quality watch.
On behalf of everybody at Abimansala I would like to thank the members of Ranaviru Fund for helping us for this worthy course.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Dushyantha

Dear Ranaviru Fund,
I am so glad to inform you that I have got the talking watches today. Harendra had arranged to send them to Kurunegala and I fetched them there in this evening. I opened the package and operated one watch and it is indeed what I was expected. It is in deed a very good watch and can use all its functions without any sighted assistance.
I have already informed our commandant in this regard and will show him the watches tomorrow morning and distribute them to our blind soldiers. I'll send you some photos of them and try to arrange a thanking letter too from the authority. Further to that, I'll get the comments from our blind soldiers about these watches and give you a feed back soon.
Dear Dhammika, I must say thank you very much for this very useful devise on behalf of all our blind soldiers and we all are really grateful for you and your team for the effort you put in to make our life a better one.
I'll get back to you again soon and until then may the blessing of triple gem always be with you.
With kind regards,
Dushyantha
As always, we couldn't do any of these without your generous support and donations. Thank you!
